    What is Worship?       

  Worship is focusing on God, not on ourselves. It is something that begins with the heart and is expressed with actions. Therefore, it is important that we prepare our hearts for this special time. Because our worship brings God pleasure, it is to be done with sincerity from the heart, not out of duty and obligation. Let's ask God to open our hearts to truly worship Him. While we can worship God anywhere at any time, there is something special about gathering with other believers. This is a time of corporate worship, but it is also a time for each person to connect with God in a personal way. At Beacon of Hope we understand that different Worship styles affect people differently. For some, entering into the presence of God is easier when singing worship choruses with arms raised in the air. For others, entering into God’s presence requires silence and bowing before the Lord in reverence. Yet for others, it’s a mix of the two, and anywhere in between. The book of Psalm is filled with many examples of singing, clapping, and playing instruments in times of Worship, yet we find when Christ himself worshiped the Father, he most often went off to a quiet place by himself. Whatever the case is for you, we welcome you to Worship with us in a way that is most meaningful to you, and seek to create an atmosphere that allows you to do that.
